Abstrak
Penelitian status hara tanah dan daun jeruk keprok telah dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Karo, Sumatra Utara pada tahun 2005-2006. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survey dengan mengambil contoh tanah komposit dan contoh daun jeruk di kebun milik petani. Contoh tanah dan tanaman kemudian dianalisis di laboratorium, selanjutnya ditetapkan status hara tanah menggunakan kriteria (PPT 1983) dan daun menggunakan kriteria IFA (1992). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk P dan K sudah intensif, sehingga mengakibatkan kandungan hara P dan K baik dalam tanah dan daun sudah optimum, bahkan ada yang tergolong tinggi. Cara pemberian pupuk sebagian besar masih disebar pada piringan sehingga tingkat efisiensinya rendah. Sebagian lokasi lahan jeruk mengalami defisiensi K dan S. Defisiensi K terjadi pada tanah yang berbahan sedimen. Tingginya kadar P dalam tanah dan daun menyebabkan defisien hara mikro Zn. Selain itu kadar hara tanah di bawah tajuk daun jeruk lebih tinggi dari kadar hara pada gawangan/antar baris tanaman jeruk.

Abstract
Research on soil and leaf nutrient status was conducted at Karo District, North Sumatera in 2005-2006. The research used survey method by taking the soil composite and leaf samples at farmer’s farms. The samples were analyzed in the laboratory, the soil samples analysis based on PPT criteria (1993) while the leaf samples analysis based on IFA criteria (1992). The result showed that P and K applications were already intensive at the farms, P and K elements in soil and leaf were at optimum concentration, and even some samples contained high concentration of them. Most of the farmers used plate method to apply the fertilizer, which was lack in efficiency. Some of the farms were deficient in K and S elements. K deficiency was found on soil that has sediment components. High content of P and K in soil and leaf made Zn deficiency. Besides that, soil nutrients under the tree canopy were higher than that of the space between the plantation rows.
