ICSFRI joined a seminar in Timor Leste which was represented by Dr Dita Agisimanto as one of the speakers. The Regional Seminar was held in AGRO-EXPO Week 2017, Thursday 19/10/2017. The theme of the Seminar was "BUILDING A COMPETITIVE AGRICULTURE IN OE-CUSSE AMBENO; IDEAS TO PROMOTE SMART PRODUCTIVE SPECIALIZATION ". The seminar was opened by Mr. ARSENIO PAIXAO BANO. Southeast Sulawesi Province is one of the national citrus production centers. Citrus plantations in Southeast Sulawesi could be found in several districts of Konawe, South Konawe, Kolaka, Buton and Muna. South Konawe earned the nickname as a farming paradise in Southeast Sulawesi, as many agricultural commodities are produced from the area, one of which is citrus. National citrus production has decreased in the last few years, and so is the case in South Konawe as a citrus production center in Southeast Sulawesi in which tangerine and mandarin citrus are cultivated. The harvest areas decrease by 9.70% during 2011-2015 with an area of ​​48,119 thousand ha. Efforts should be made to maintain the stability of citrus fruit production and to cope with the declining production of citrus.

The mission to restore the fame of tangerine Pontianak in Sambas regency, West Kalimantan has been started since 2016 with a series of research activities. One of the activities focused on creating a new demonstration plot in Tebas in the village of Matanglabong and Pusaka by planting as many as 2000 of citrus disease-free seeds. In order to accomplish the mission, farmers are expected to know and understand the role of disease-free seeds in the field and how to properly manage the plants.
